Skullgard Protective Caps and Hats are designed to offer outstanding protection in hot and dangerous industries, setting the standard for environments such as steel mills. These helmets have been tested to radiant heat loads producing temperatures up to, but not exceeding, 350°F. The full brim design offers additional protection from falling objects, debris, and provides shade from the sun, while the phenolic resin material provides enhanced heat resistance.

The key feature of a cap style hard hat is its low-profile design, resembling a traditional baseball cap, offering protection while allowing for more clearance in tight spaces. The lamp bracket and cord holder are useful features for ensuring hands-free lighting in dark or poorly lit environments, which is often necessary in many of these high-risk work settings. The presence of welders lugs makes it especially suitable for welding operations, where it can securely attach face shields, offering protection from high temperatures generated during welding.

Skullgard Caps and Hats are commonly used in steel mills, welding, construction, open-pit mining, oil/gas refineries, rubber manufacturing, and steam tunnels. Made from phenolic resin, they come in Non-slotted Cap Style, Full-Brim Hat, Cap or Hat with lamp bracket / cord holder and Cap or Hat with attached welder lugs. Caps are available in Standard (6½ – 8") and Large (7 – 8½"), and hats in Standard (6½ – 8"). They meet ANSI/ISEA Z89.1-2014 (Class G) standards and are SEI certified.
